What do you cover in your courses?
Our courses cover the 10 most common household emergency situations our paramedics see that involve children. eg. Choking, burns, drowning, factures, bleeding, and poisoning. All the things parents worry about!
Are your courses accredited?
We have found most parents don’t have the full day required to complete an accredited first aid course, let alone the pre work and subsequent evaluation. That’s why we developed a concise 3 hour workshop covering all the essential skills parents require to avoid a tragedy in the home.
Our courses are delivered exclusively by paramedics able to transfer their firsthand knowledge and expertise. While we take our content very seriously, we also ensure it is delivered in a practical and engaging manner in a relaxed environment. Accredited courses are available by request for corporate customers.
Is there an exam? Do I need to take notes?
No, there is no exam in our 3 hr session and no need to take notes. The course is designed to give you simple, practical and current skills that you can use in an emergency. For this reason we don't teach the course in a way you need to 'study'. We also give you a poster to summarise everything we cover and to act as a quick reference guide.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes, babies under 12 months are more than welcome. Children over 12 months are discouraged... I don't know a toddler who will sit still for 3 hours!
How much is the course?
Just $85 per person plus GST (including all instruction and a quick reference poster that summarises everything we cover). Some health care funds also offer a rebate to their members.
To what child age group is your course applicable?
Our courses are aimed at parents/carers of children 0-16 yrs. However, the first aid techniques we cover are relevant to all ages. Even adults!
Who else in my family should come along?
Parents, grandparents, babysitters, nannies, aunts, uncles, neighbours and friends. Anyone who spends any time with your child or any other children.
What's the difference between your courses and other first aid courses?
All our sessions are presented by trained and experienced paramedics - who are absolute experts in emergency care! They have experience treating parents and children on an ongoing basis, for all the situations we cover, including choking, drowning, burns, fits, fractures, bleeding, fits and poisonings.
All our paramedics/presenters also integrate their own personal experience into the course content. This not only provides relevant and memorable examples, but is also entertaining... and sometimes even funny!
Do you cover CPR?
Yes. The first section of the course covers CPR. We also demonstrate the difference between implementing CRP on a new born baby vs a toddler vs a child vs an adult. You will not be individually assessed, however you are very welcome to practice in the break or at the end of the session.
I loved your course - what can I do to help?
If you get anything out of our session - please recommend us to any parents, family and friends. 95% of our attendees have learnt about us via word of mouth.
How do I sign up?

What is the minimum/maximum number of attendees for a private session?
A minimum of 8 attendees is required to host a private session and there is no maximum number as long as everyone fits in the venue you have chosen, including your home. All courses are hosted by an experienced and qualified paramedic.
What is the price of a Private Session?
To be eligible for a private session you must at minimum cover the equivalent cost of a eight attendees. Each additional attendee simply pays the same price as our public sessions - $85 per person (plus GST).
